Sohar University revealed the scientific projects that obtained the funding from the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation on December 13, 2023, totaling 22 The total number of researchers that received funding reached 22. This is considered as yet another accomplishment that contributes to the university’s scientific research and innovation. This occurred during a ceremony conducted in the LRC Building, conference hall.
Dr. Hamdan bin Sulaiman Al-Fazari, VC of Sohar University, delivered a speech in which he thanked all of the researchers who got research funds and urged them to continue the university’s efforts in scientific research and innovation. He also emphasized the recent efforts of researchers, which contributed to the institution being ranked first in the Sultanate in terms of research quality.
This was followed by a speech by Professor Ghassan Al-Kindi, Pro VC of the University for Scientific Research and Innovation, discussing the role of scientific research in university improvement.
During the ceremony, four researchers were recognized who were placed in the top 2% of the world’s scientists on the Clarivate Scopus ranking of the most cited research worldwide. Researchers who funded from MOHERI were also recognized.
