Sohar University strives, in its vision, to "develop minds, enrich lives, and serve the community through exceptional education, research opportunities, and partnerships," believing that scientific research is the foundation upon which the future of nations is built. Therefore, it places research among its strategic priorities and always seeks to provide an academic environment that stimulates creative thinking and sustainable research, encouraging students to actively participate in the development of scientific knowledge and to address societal challenges through innovative research.

Our conference at Sohar University aims to contribute to advancing the scientific achievements of our students, which in turn fosters the progress of research and innovation. It provides a platform for youth to discuss their role in shaping the future of education, language, and literature, and to benefit from the treasures of our heritage in building our future.

Important Dates

  1. Deadline for submitting abstracts: 30/11/2024.
  2. Scientific committee's response to abstracts: 8/12/2024.
  3. Deadline for submitting final research papers: 25/1/2025.
  4. Scientific committee's feedback on acceptance of final research papers: 2/2/2025.

Conference Objectives

  • Encourage university students to write disciplined scientific research under the supervision of their professors.
  • Present proposals to benefit from modern incoming studies in the fields of language, literature, and education.
  • Deepen research into the cognitive theories governing literature, language sciences, and education.
  • Employ various theories in the humanities to develop new strategies.
  • Strengthen academic and research links among student researchers in the Sultanate of Oman.
  • Enable students to anticipate scientific research in education, literature, and language sciences.
  • Utilize research findings in the humanities to affirm the strategic plans and vision of the Sultanate.
  • Enable students to present their research and ideas professionally, helping them acquire presentation and effective communication skills, which are essential in the academic and professional job market.

Participation Conditions

  1. Research papers are accepted in Arabic and English.
  2. The research must be original and not previously presented by the student researcher at any conference or submitted for publication.
  3. The research title must be related to one of the conference themes.
  4. The student researcher must be at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.
  5. The scientific committee accepts both individual and joint research papers.
  6. The participation request should include a research title, supervisor's name, university name, and an abstract (150-300 words).
  7. Submissions should be sent via this link.

Research Writing Guidelines

  1. Font type and size: Simplified Arabic, 14.
  2. Line spacing: 1.5.
  3. Researchers should adopt a sound scientific and methodological system in documentation.
  4. The length of research should be between 3,000 and 6,000 words, adhering to the requirements and sound methodology of scientific research.
  5. The research should be accompanied by a list of sources and references arranged according to APA 7 or as appropriate for the nature of the research.
  6. Research papers should be submitted in a Word document and a PDF version.
  7. Ensure linguistic and typographical accuracy in the research.
