Al-Arb Club team at Sohar University participated in the National Debating Championship in its seventh edition, and won the fourth place in the tournament in the category of universities, colleges and clubs. The team was represented by: Student Zorda Al-Habsia, Student Taif Al-Darmki, Student Bayan Al-Maamri, Student Hashem Abdullah Al-Farsi, and Student Taif Al Darmaki won the fourth best speaker award in the tournament. In return, the team qualified for the third seat in the International Championship for Universities and Colleges, which will be held in the State of Qatar next May.
The tournament was held in 25 April 2024 in Sohar, North Al Batinah Governorate, where the competition was supervised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in cooperation with the North Al Batinah Governor’s Office, Oman Debate, and OQ and Jindal companies. The finals were held with the participation of (56) young people who represented (14) teams over two days, the first for the school category and the second for the university and college category.
