Sohar University hosts a Business Partner’s Gathering for 34 government and private institutions

Sohar University held yesterday, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, on campus, a Business Partners’ Gathering which brought together 34 governmental and private institutions.

 The gathering was held under the patronage of His Excellency Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah. The aim was to strengthening research, training and industrial partnerships and exchanging institutional experiences between Sohar University and governmental and private institutions in the Sultanate.

Dr. Hamdan bin Sulaiman Al-Fazari, Vice chancellor of the University, gave a visual presentation on the university’s Vice chancellor, Dr. Hamdan bin Sulaiman Al-Fazari, delivered a slide show that covered the institution’s accomplishments, its faculties and academic offerings, as well as teaching and learning strategies. In addition, he discussed the accomplishments of staff members and students as well as the domains of innovation, community service, industrial collaboration, and scientific research. He also emphasized the chances for collaboration and partnerships between the university, the government, business, and society.

After, it came a dialogue session entitled “From Education to Learning”, led by Mr. Mustafa Al Lawati, Manager of Community Engagement and Partnership at Sohar University. It Participated by: Mr. Badr Al-Jahwari, Superintendent of Professional and organizational Development at Sohar Aluminum Company, Mr. Ahmed Al-Hajri, General Manager of the General Directorate of Labor in North Al Batinah Governorate, and Professor Hussein Kazim, lecturer at Sohar University. The session discussed the importance of education in achieving sustainable development in addition to the role of cooperation between higher education institutions, industrial institutions, and government institutions in achieving national progress. It also discussed the skills and capabilities required of the workforce. As well as, it put the sight on the potential of higher education institutions to enhance the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Cooperation agreements were signed in the fields of training, research and innovation, and institutional partnerships between the university and: Al Badi Investment Group Holding LLC, Majid Al Futtaim Hypermarkets, the National Bank of Oman, Taghleef Industries, the Omani Manufacturers Association, and Sohar Operating Services Company. Sohar University is one of the leading educational institutions that contribute to achieving the goals of research, innovation, and knowledge transfer, and pays great attention to strengthening community and institutional partnerships in line with Oman Vision 2040. Sohar University also honored the companies and government and private institutions that contributed to enhancing training and research work at Sohar University during the last year.
