Sohar University Takes Major Step Towards AACSB Accreditation with Expert Mentor Visit

Sohar University welcomed on Monday October 28, 2024 the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) appointed mentor Professor Utomo Sarjona Putro from School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia in a collaborative step forward in the university’s global business education accreditation process. The mentor’s visit, which is an integral part of Sohar University’s commitment to meeting the rigorous standards of AACSB, involved detailed discussions with the university top management, faculty members, administrators, and key stakeholders to review the Faculty of Business’s progress toward achieving accreditation. 

During the visit, the AACSB mentor assessed various strategic initiatives, academic offerings, faculty qualifications and sufficiency, student development programs, learners’ success, and societal impact aligned to the school’s mission. A particular focus was placed on the university’s commitment to academic excellence, faculty research, and continuous improvement practices aligned with AACSB’s mission of fostering global engagement, innovation, and impact within business education. This visit not only offered valuable insights but also reinforced the university’s strategic goals in shaping a world-class educational environment.
