Sohar University organize Children's Athletics Festival

The Physical Education Program at the faculty of Education and Arts at Sohar University held a training workshop and the second edition of the Children’s Athletics Festival on Wednesday and Thursday, November 6-7, 2024. The event was under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed Al. Kiyumi, Assistant Dean of the faculty of Education and Arts, and in cooperation with the Oman Athletics Association and the Future Science International School.

This initiative is part of the program’s objectives to create an exceptional learning environment for students in various academic courses based on application and creativity. It also aims to strengthen cooperation with the external community to supply the job market with well-qualified, academically and practically skilled individuals, contributing to the development of society and supporting Oman Vision 2040’s priorities, including education, learning, scientific research, national capacities, health, well-being, and social protection.

Dr. Fatima Hassan, Associate Professor at the faculty of Education and Arts, stated, “These programs are part of the faculty’s activities in providing training opportunities for students alongside academic learning. They are complementary programs that contribute to the development and enhancement of students’ skills and experiences. The partnership in organizing this event with the Oman Athletics Association is an important step in community collaboration and knowledge exchange, benefiting both the students and the community. The Federation’s role in raising awareness about the importance and role of children’s athletics programs is crucial, as it represents a fundamental segment of various sports disciplines”.
