“Letters of the Nation”: A National Poetry Evening at Sohar University

Sohar University, represented by the Diwan Group under the Student Activities Department, organized a national poetry evening titled “Letters of the Nation” on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the university campus. This event was part of the university’s celebrations for the 54th National Day of Oman, held under the patronage of the university Vice Chancellor, Dr. Hamdan Al-Fazari, and in the presence of the Deputy Wali of Sohar, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Balushi.

The evening featured performances by prominent poets, including Dr. Talal Al-Zaabi, poet Hesham Al-Saqri, and poet Saqr Al-Mazrouei. And moderated by Dr. Khaled Al-Ma’amari.

During the event, the poets expressed their deep love for the homeland and the Sultan, celebrating the achievements and progress of this great nation. They proudly reflected on the prosperity and blessings enjoyed by every Omani living in the comfort and abundance of their country. The evening was attended by a large audience of poetry enthusiasts who enjoyed the exquisite performances of both classical.
