Sohar University celebrate the Omani National day on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the open theater on the university campus. The event was under the patronage of His Excellency Abdullah bin Ali Al-Balushi, Member of the Shura Council and representative of Sohar, and was attended by Dr. Hamdan Al-Fazari, Vice Chancellor of Sohar University, along with university staff, and students.
The celebration began with the Royal Anthem, followed by a speech from Dr. Hamdan Al-Fazari. Following this, Reem Al-Sabariya and Maram Al-Subhi presented two poems in love for Oman. This was followed by a performance of the Royal Anthem by Professor Rakesh Bhalwal from the Faculty of Business. Additionally, the national anthem and a musical performance were presented by “Qithara” group, as well as a traditional dance performance by the university students.
On the other side, two scientific journals were launched: Sohar University Journal of Sustainable Business and Sohar University Journal of Engineering and Information Technology Innovations. The ceremony also included the honoring of the working committees. The celebration featured an exhibition of visual arts and photography, as well as a heritage corner that showcased Oman’s traditional culture and authenticity.
