The Faculty of Engineering is actively providing the best learning experience to the students by exposing them to the industry by organizing industrial visits. On 15 November 2023, the Faculty of Engineering in collaboration with Al Tasnim Cement Products LLC, Sohar, has organized a site visit to Ready-mix Concrete Plant, Construction Block Factory, and Asphalt Mixing Plant in Sohar Industrial Area for the Civil Engineering students.
The visit is supervised by Dr. Mohsin Qureshi (Associate Professor of Civil Engineering) and accompanying staff from Sohar University includes, Dr. Ashraf Javid, and Ms. Hajar Al Handasi. The students were briefed about the concrete batching, mixing and transportation process and the quality control involved in the process. In addition, the students were made familiar about the materials and machines being used in handling the concrete and asphalt. An interactive discussion and knowledge sharing during the visit have familiarized the students about the importance of industry academia linkage.
