Sohar University had two booths at Oman Innovation Festival in its first edition, which was held at the Innovation Park Muscat from February 5 to 10, 2024, and was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation in collaboration with many sponsors and supporting institutions. The event was under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs. The first booth discussed scientific and industrial incubators, while the second booth showcased the most recent breakthroughs and student research from the University’s Computing and Information Technology and Engineering Faculties.
It is worth mentioning that the festival featured a variety of events and activities aimed at everyone interested in the innovation system, including the two-day Innovation Forum, which was held in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization. The festival exhibition included booths for various institutions that provide services to innovators, in addition to the most prominent innovations of students of higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to another exhibition of innovative applications for creative youth, and with the aim of connecting individual innovators and innovation-based startups with investors, the “Jisr” program.
