As part of the activities of the Oman Innovation Festival organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Sohar University signed two agreements in the field of applied research consultancy with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (Be’ah) through the Ejaad platform managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation to link the academic sector with the industrial sector. The first agreement included the study of the use of sulfur products by Sohar University in civil engineering applications, while the second agreement included that Sohar University Sohar should study a methodology to improve community awareness about food waste.
The signing of these two agreements comes within the commitment of Sohar University to transform the results of university research into added value to the national economy. It is worth mentioning that Sohar University has actively contributed to the Oman Innovation Festival in the fields of incubators and accelerators as well as marketable innovations.
