Biography

Dr. Abdallah Mohd Abualkishik is currently serving as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at Sohar University. With a strong academic background, he obtained his B.S. degree in Computer Science from Jerash University, Jordan, in 2004. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, he pursued his M.Sc. degree in Intelligent Systems from North Malaysia University (UTARA) Malaysia, which he successfully completed in 2007. His passion for research led him to further advance his expertise by obtaining a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence & Software Engineering rom (Malaysia National University (UKM) – 129 QS ranking in 2023), Malaysia in 2011.

Dr. Abualkishik’s academic journey extends beyond his doctoral studies. After completing his Ph.D., he dedicated a year of service as a post-doctoral fellow at Malaysia National University (UKM). During this time, Dr. Abualkishik collaborated with a team on two research projects funded by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia, with a total value exceeding 50,000$. These projects allowed him to contribute to cutting-edge research and make valuable contributions to the academic community. Following his post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Abualkishik held the esteemed position of Senior Lecturer at University Tenaga National Malaysia (UNITEN) for two years. This experience not only added depth to his academic profile but also provided him with the opportunity to mentor and supervise several students. In his capacity as a Senior Lecturer, he supervised four Ph.D. students and seven Master’s students, guiding them in their research and academic pursuits. Currently, Dr. Abualkishik assumes the role of program coordinator for the Network & Database program at Sohar University. In this crucial role, he actively shapes the curriculum and ensures the program’s relevance to the evolving needs of the industry. Dr. Abualkishik’s dedication to fostering the development of future professionals is evident in his commitment to providing students with a comprehensive education that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills.

Recognized for his exceptional teaching abilities, Dr. Abualkishik was honored with the Vice Chancellors Outstanding Teaching Award for the academic year 2021-2022. His commitment to delivering high-quality education is evident in his instructional methods and his ability to establish a strong rapport with his students. Through his teaching, he imparts not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills that equip students for success in the field of computer science. Moreover, Dr. Abualkishik has made substantial contributions to the field of computer science through his research endeavors. His work has been published in reputable journals and presented at esteemed conferences, earning recognition and respect from the academic community. The papers he has authored cover various areas of computer science and have been indexed in prestigious databases such as SCOPUS and ISI, further validating the impact of his research. Driven by a desire to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, Dr. Abualkishik focuses his research on areas such as artificial intelligence, information technologies, the internet of things, and smart systems. His ultimate goal is to develop innovative solutions that effectively address real-life and community problems across diverse domains. His research prowess has garnered him numerous research grants from the Oman Research Council, with a cumulative value exceeding 40,000 OMR, enabling him to pursue cutting-edge research and contribute to technological advancements.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Abualkishik has continuously enhanced his professional skills through certifications in Computer Network from Huawei, including HCIA (Huawei Certified ICT Associate) and HCIP (Huawei Certified ICT Professional). These certifications serve as a testament to his expertise and proficiency in the field of computer networking, further augmenting his ability to contribute to the ever-evolving landscape of computer science. Dr. Abualkishik is presently engaged in a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation (MoHESRI) in the Sultanate of Oman. In this capacity, he serves as a highly valued reviewer responsible for evaluating and providing feedback on academic programs proposed by various universities and colleges throughout the country.
