Dr Eassa Ali Mohammed Ali
Biography
Dr. Eassa Ali is serving as an Assistant Professor of Linguistics and Translation Studies at the Faculty of Language Studies, Sohar University. He earned his BA Degree in Arabic and Translation from Sana’a University, Yemen (with a high distinction recognition), MA Degree in Linguistics from University of Kerala, India (with a high distinction recognition), and Ph.D. Degree in Translation Studies from University of Kerala, India. Prior to joining Sohar University in 2024, he was teaching in India. He also taught in different universities in Yemen. In his Ph.D. thesis, he focused on the relevance between translation theory and practice. Dr. Eassa is renowned for his expertise in Translation Studies and commitment to teaching and research.
Dr. Eassa has got good experience of teaching many courses such as legal translation, technical translation, media translation, business translation, translation as theory and practice, machine translation, etc. He, as a teacher, keeps inspiring, encouraging and motivating his students. Dr. Eassa’s dedication to providing a com prehensive education to his students is evident in his classrooms, and he is highly regarded as an effective and passionate educator. His expertise in these areas has earned him recognition in the field, and he is a member of IATIS – International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies. Dr. Eassa’s dedication to research excellence is evident through his publications. He has published a book, chapter and some articles. Additionally, he is currently a part of a research project in Oman.
