Biography

Dr Eimad Eldin Abdu Ali Abusham is a highly accomplished scholar in the field of Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence (AI). He earned his Master’s degree from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2001 and completed his Ph.D. at the esteemed Multimedia University (MMU) in 2012. Dr Abusham is an accomplished Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology With expertise in the field of Artificial Intelligence, specifically Biometric and Pattern Recognition, he has made significant contributions to academia and research.

Since 2013, Dr Abusham has been serving as an Assistant Professor at Sohar University in Oman. Prior to this, he held the position of Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Science & Technology at Multimedia University in Malaysia from 2005 to 2012. He also worked as a Lecturer at INTI International University in Malaysia in 2001-2002 and as an Assistant Lecturer in Computer Science and Information Technology at Sudan University of Science and Technology in Sudan from 1998 to 2001.

Dr Abusham’s research profile and publications are highly regarded in the academic community. His work has been recognized by reputable platforms such as Scopus, ORCID, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate. He has actively contributed to various committees and services in his academic career. He had served as a Program Coordinator for Database and Networking at Sohar University from 2014 to 2020. Additionally, he served as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee and Examination Committee. During his tenure at Multimedia University, he contributed to curriculum design, industrial training, final year projects, and served on ad hoc committees.

Dr Abusham’s dedication to research and academic excellence has earned him several awards and recognition. Notably, he received the TRC-URG, TRC-RG, and TRC-FURAP awards and Journal Publication Incentive Awards. He also received a Travel Award for his participation in the Korea-Inchon CEWIT conference.

Dr Abusham’s research interests encompass various areas within Artificial Intelligence, including Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Data Sciences, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Biometrics, and Deep Learning. He is also interested in IoT, Networking, WSN, Social Media Analytics and Big Data, as well as Image Processing. His extensive research contributions are evident through numerous published papers in indexed journals and conferences Scopus, ORCID, Research Gate, ‪Google Scholar.

Dr Abusham is committed to fostering academic growth and development. He has supervised Ph.D. and Master’s students, guiding them in their research pursuits. At present, Dr Abusham provides guidance to a number of Ph.D. students and has also overseen research projects for Master’s students.

With his expertise, research contributions, and dedication to academia, Dr Abusham continues to contribute significantly to the field of Artificial Intelligence, leaving a lasting impact on the academic community.

Through his contributions to book chapters, Dr Abusham showcases his expertise and research endeavors in the field of artificial intelligence and its application to financial markets. His work demonstrates a multidisciplinary approach that combines computational methods with financial analysis, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in this domain.

Dr Abusham actively serves the community by conducting various workshops. Through these workshops, Dr Abusham actively contributes to the community by sharing his expertise and facilitating opportunities for talent development and knowledge enhancement. By organizing workshops in schools and universities, as well as catering to specific audiences like the Ministry of Education staff, he demonstrates his commitment to promoting innovation and technological advancements in education and beyond.

Dr Abusham has made significant contributions in the field of image processing and biometrics, leading to the grant of a patent. His patent titled “Drowsy Driver Detection System Using Average Local Binary Structure” was awarded in October 2020 with the patent number 2020102438.
