Biography
Dr. Mohsen Shirazizadeh is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics in the Faculty of Language Studies at Sohar University. His research focuses mainly on academic writing, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English Medium Instruction (EMI), and corpus linguistics. He has published extensively in various internationally reputable journals, with some of his writings appearing in top-tier journals such as the Journal of English for Academic Purposes; Current Issues in Language Planning; Language, Identity and Education; System; TESOL Journal; and Applied Linguistics among others. Additionally, he has presented his research at renowned and high-profile conferences in various countries, including the United States, the UK, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Turkey, Lebanon, and Iran.

Prior to joining Sohar University, he served as an Associate Professor and Head of the English Department at Alzahra University in Iran. During his tenure there, spanning 10 years, he taught a wide range of courses at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. He has also supervised numerous postgraduate theses and dissertations within his areas of expertise and is currently working on a couple of projects in the realm of English for academic purposes.​
