Dr Nitin Bhaurao Raut
Biography
Dr Nitin Raut has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from UDCT, India, aptly backed by a postgraduate diploma in Piping Design and Engineering from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune, India. He is experienced in plant erection and commissioning of the hydrogenation and guanidine nitrate plants. His major areas of research include measurement and monitoring of air and water pollution and the control and management of water quality subject to salination by saline water bodies or desalination plants. He has successfully completed the Research Council-funded, Oman-funded research project that involved wastewater treatment and integrated systems aiming at the preservation of water resource quality and the generation of energy from waste water using microalgae. He is the recipient of the Vice Chancellor Award for Recognition in Research at Sohar University, Sulatanate of Oman, in the year 2014–2015 and the Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Teachers Award in 2021-2202. He has been instrumental in proposing and successfully coordinating the Master in Environmental Engineering and the PhD in Engineering programs at Sohar University.
