Sohar University is ready to kick of the Elevating Intellectual Property, Research, and Innovation in Oman Forum on October 2-3, 2024. This event will take place on the university campus in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, as well as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a United Nations agency dedicated to supporting innovators and creators worldwide. The forum aims to highlight the importance of intellectual property protection as a means to foster innovation and support researchers and innovators in Oman.
The forum will feature contributions from global experts, researchers, and specialists in the field of intellectual property, both from Oman and abroad. Several key topics will be discussed, including the IP, Research & Innovation: Government Perspective in the Context of Oman’s Vision 2040, Making Innovation Policy Work for Development: Insights from World Intellectual Property Report 2024, High-Tech, Intellectual Property and Open Knowledge Ecosystem, and Intellectual Property Challenges in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.
Additionally, the forum will include workshops and panel discussions designed to facilitate knowledge exchange and provide a platform for researchers to showcase their ideas and projects. This event aims to enhance awareness of the significance of intellectual property and its role in supporting innovation and sustainable development in Oman.
