Dr. Jabbar Youssef from the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology participated as a prominent keynote speaker in the conference held by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al-Mussanah—Oman, under the title Artificial Intelligence Apex Challenges Summit, on March 7, 2024.
The lecture discussed the application of sustainable solutions using artificial intelligence technologies, such as robots as receptionists who can guide customers and answer their questions. As well as using the robot to interact with customers and suggest a tourism plan or record their satisfaction with the tourism services provided to them. In addition to proposing the use of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies and virtual reality in designing a virtual tour of a museum equipped with audio and video sensors and wireless connectivity to communicate or transfer information. The proposed method will help market Omani tourism and increase the number of visitors to the actual museum or to visit it using the virtual tour via the website or the headset. It also helps create new opportunities for companies and individuals. It will also help diversify sources of income, preserve the Omani heritage, and transmit it faithfully to future generations.
