Sohar University Participates in the First Legal Seminar on “The Role of Legal Legislation and Its Professional and Judicial Applications in the Health Sector”

First Legal Seminar

Representing Sohar University, Dr. Enas Qutieshat, Dean of the Faculty of Law, participated in the first legal seminar titled “The Role of Legal Legislation and Its Professional and Judicial Applications in the Health Sector,” organized by the Oman College of Health Sciences. The seminar was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saeed bin Hareb Al-Lamki, Undersecretary for Health Affairs in the Ministry of Health, and saw wide participation from professionals in various health and academic sectors, as well as judges, legal advisors, and students from law and health sciences colleges.

During the seminar, Dr. Enas presented a paper addressing the legal challenges associated with medical and technological advancements, with a focus on issues related to the use of artificial intelligence in the medical and healthcare sectors. She highlighted key challenges such as privacy, personal data protection, informed patient consent, cybersecurity issues, and cloud computing, while also emphasizing the most relevant local legislation governing these areas.
