Under the Patronage of His Excellency Engineer Saeed Al-Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology
Sohar University graduated its 22nd Batch on the 3rd of January 2024, under the patronage of His Excellency Engineer Saeed bin Hamoud Al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, occurred in the Madinat Al Irfan Theatre, Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, Muscat.
The University’s six faculties reached 1,790 graduates, 222 of whom were Diploma holders, 1,066 were Bachelor’s holders, and 32 had Master’s degrees. The number of graduates of the Higher Diploma in Teacher Preparation Program reached 470.
It is worth noting that the number of graduates of the Faculty of Business reached 432, the Faculty of Engineering reached 180, the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology reached 196, the Faculty of Language Studies reached 173, the Faculty of Education and Arts reached 705 and the number of graduates of the Faculty of Law reached 104.
The Ceremony began with the National Anthem and the Holy Qur’an. Dr Hamdan bin Sulaiman Al-Fazari, the Vice Chancellor of Sohar University addressed: “Sohar University is proud to announce the graduation of the twenty-second batch, which brings together a new set of graduates equipped with the science and knowledge, as well as the required skills to join the labour market with full merit and competence.” He added, “Dear Graduates, Your current duty is to prove your knowledge and skills. You must clearly outline your future aims, taking the reasons for doing so and working hard to achieve them.”
Mr Rashid Al Hadi, one of the graduates from the Faculty of Education and Arts mentioned: “Thanks to God for paving the road for us and allowing us to be here today in this wonderful position to offer everyone his due appreciation, love, and gratitude, beginning with my University.” He added. “Dear Graduates, Congratulations on this achievement, and thanks to everyone who shared our excitement on the day of our graduation.”
The top 32 graduates with the highest academic GPA from the University’s various programs were recognized by His Excellency Engineer Saeed bin Hamoud Al-Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, followed by the awards of the graduates of Batch 22.
