Sohar University’s Faculty of Education and Arts celebrated the 2023 International Day of the Arabic Language. The event under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed Al-Maqbali, Pro VC for Administration and Finance, and attended by Dr. Ali Al-Shamli, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Arts.
The event featured speeches by Professor Nidal Al-Shamali and Dr. Muhammad Al-Hassan, Coordinator of the Arabic Language and Literature Program. A documentary movie highlighting Sohar University’s efforts to serve the Arabic language, a musical piece sung from the Andalusian Muwashah performed by music education students at the faculty, and a closing speech given by students from the Al Adhdaad group.
Dr. Mohammed Al. Kiyumi, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Education and Arts, launched the Arabic language exhibition on International Arabic Language Day, which included paintings of common linguistic errors, Arabic calligraphy, and paintings of the intersection of classical and colloquial.
