SU to Host the 15th International Scientific Forum on Wednesday

Sohar University will host the 15th International Scientific Forum on Wednesday and Thursday this week at its campus under the theme: “University Innovation and Comprehensive Development”. This marks the first forum of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman. Organized in collaboration with the international platform Arid, the official opening ceremony will be held under the patronage of H.E. Mohammed Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah.

The forum will span two days, with the first day featuring the official opening and the launch of the book “Islam and Experimental Science.” Additionally, the day will include three key scientific lectures:

  1. “The Role of Scholars in Advancing Arid  Scientific Projects” – Presented by Dr. Saif Al-Suwaidi, General Supervisor of the Forum and CEO of Arid Scientific Platform.
  2. “Skills for Studying, Editing, Authenticating, and Annotating Manuscripts” – Delivered by Prof. Najm Abdulrahman Khalaf.
  3. “Scientific Research at Early Educational Stages to Foster Critical Thinking and Innovation” – By Prof. Yousef Abdullah Mohammed.

The first day will also feature two research sessions and 31 research presentations by participants from Oman and abroad.

Day Two Highlights

The second day will commence with a scientific symposium titled “University Innovation and Comprehensive Development.” It will include three additional scientific lectures:

  1. “The Role of Academic Innovation in Promoting Sustainable Development” – By Dr. Saif Al-Suwaidi.
  2. “Innovation Methodology and Business Incubators at Sohar University” – Presented by Prof. Ghassan Al-Kindi.
  3. “University Innovation and Its Role in Development” – By Prof. Mahmoud Nadeem.

A specialized workshop titled “Modern Trends in Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers” will be conducted by Prof. Hidaya Sheikh Ali, alongside two additional research sessions and 33 research presentations.

The forum will also offer training courses on manuscript studies, including editing, authenticating, and annotating, as well as a session on modern trends in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, led by experts in the field.

This international scientific event provides a unique platform for academics and researchers from around the world to exchange knowledge and expertise. It also underscores Sohar University’s commitment to supporting scientific research and fostering international collaboration in academic fields.
