Sohar University has recently achieved a significant milestone by securing funding for 53 research projects from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (MOHERI). The projects involve more than 120 researchers, comprising both students and academics, marking a notable contribution to the university’s research and innovation footprint in alignment with its strategic plan for 2023-2028.
The announcement was made during a ceremony held at the Academic Support Center at the campus. Dr. Hamdan Al Fazari, Vice Chancellor of the University, honored the researchers in the presence of Pro VCs, Deans, academics, and students.
In his address, Dr. Hamdan Al Fazari highlighted this achievement as a testament to the university’s dedication to advancing research and fostering innovation. He praised the efforts of faculty members and researchers in elevating the standards of academic inquiry.
Professor Ghassan Al-Kindi, PRO VC of Research and Innovation, emphasized that this accomplishment underscores the university’s commitment to supporting research and innovation. He reiterated the importance of publishing research that aligns with national priorities and contributes to scientific progress.
