Professor Nidal Al Shamali form the Faculty of Education and Arts at Sohar University served on the final judging panel for the Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts, Literature in its tenth session (2023), representing Sohar University in the genre of novels, which was awarded by Algerian author Waciny Laredj. Professor Ihsan Al Lawati and Dr. Ahmed Yousef from Sultan Qaboos University were on the final judging panel.
