Sohar University’s Career Guidance Services organize the 2024 Training Forum, which take place on the university campus from February 26 to 28, 2024, under the patronage of Sohar’s Deputy Wali, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Shihab Al Balushi, and sponsored by Sohar Aluminium Company LLC.
The Training Fair began with the opening of the exhibition of institutions, which included 16 booths from a variety of government and private institutions, including Sohar Aluminum Company LLC, the ‘Directorate General of Labour -North albatina Governorate, the ‘National Employment Program, the Oman Aluminum Rolling Mills Company (ORAC), CROWNE PLAZA SOHAR, MAJID AL FUTTAIM Hypermarkets, and ‘Voltamp Power SAOC. In addition to High Voltage Transformers LLC, the ‘Tax Administration -North albatina Governorate, the ‘Oasis Institute for Training and Development, the ‘Institute IMT SOHAR, ‘AZAER Group and Investment Holding Company, the ‘alshamil alraeda for Engineering Consultants, the ‘Asian Paints Middle East LLC (Berger), the ‘Jahzeen Foundation, ‘Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn – Sohar), ‘Oman Aluminium Rolling Company LLC, and the Tebb Manufacturing Company- Plastic.
During the forum, a number of specialists gives 10 workshops on topics such as the Raising Awareness About the New Labor Law, Discover Personal Marketing Secrets, the Circle of Influence and Concern, Introduction to the Freelance Work Package, Modern Leadership Skills, Tax Administration and The Labor Market, Principles and Foundations of Reading Engineering Maps, and Electronic Services for Job Seekers.
Ms. Mariam Al Shibli, Head of Career Guidance Services, stated in her presentation about the forum, “We are moving towards holding such an event for students and graduates, regardless of the challenges and efforts we make, which would develop the professional skills of our students and graduates in collaboration with various leading entities and institutions. As such, Sohar University strives to establish and foster an exciting practical environment that helps to the development of students’ and graduates’ abilities and enables them to stay up with labor market changes. Furthermore, in collaboration with the participating entities, we all strive to provide unique training opportunities and courses that help to establish a foundation of professional skills”.
